Just before the New Year, the city was locked down, the PH-1 screen shattered, and it lasted until today. It seriously affects usage. I found a screen from Taobao...
This isn't the first time I've changed the screen. The previous Sony Z2 L50T had its screen changed several times, the Samsung S6 and Note8 have also had their screens changed, and now I'm using the Essential Phone PH-1, which is also the second screen change (I seriously suspect I have Parkinson's symptoms).
1. Use a hot air blower to blow on the frame, wait for the adhesive to melt, then insert a thin sheet into the gap to separate the screen
2. Remove the screws fixing the screen port, disconnect the screen from the motherboard
3. Install a new screen, power on, and test
4. Glue and fix, start the machine, and complete the work
Overall, the PH-1 has the simplest structure, so replacing the screen is also the easiest (no need to remove the back cover), and it has the lowest failure rate (almost zero; Samsung's curved screens are the most troublesome and have the highest failure rate).
